These are the movies I can watch over, and over, and over and over, and overrr  again. Growing up, I didn’t have cable in my bedroom, so I watched a ton of movies. A lot of times, I’d watch the same movie on a loop for weeks. That sounds like I’m crazy, but I wouldn’t actually sit there and watch. I’d have it on as background noise while I cleaned my room or worked on art projects, or homework. I’ve also spent a lot of my “adult life” without cable, because really, who needs it when you have the internet? So, here is a list of my favorite movies of all time.

My kitty, Prefontaine! I know I am a horrible pet mommy for having a favorite, but I can’t help it! He is the most wonderful cat I’ve ever met. I will just post a few more pictures, instead of going on and on about how amazing and beautiful I think my cat is. HE IS THOUGH! HE IS SO PRETTY!

Who can be sad when they have something so cute following them around all day?

I’ve been an Incubus fan for a very long time now, and find so many of their songs fit my many different moods. Pretty much the entire Make Yourself album could be listed for this question. Sadness, anger, struggle, loss, HOPE… it’s all in there, plus more. I’m actually running with the hopeful aspects right now.

This one is hard for me, as it stirs up a lot. Above is a picture of my parent’s from the early 90′s, when life was simple and full of awesome. I’m noticing that massive Whitman’s Sampler (my mom got one every year) and wishing I could go eat all of the good ones, poke holes in half of them to see whether I find it edible or not, and then leaving the rest for my mom. She would even take the ones I bit into, thinking it was a truffle, but turned out to be some gross fruit-filling. Random storytime. It’s been a long time since I saw that picture, and like with all old pictures, I tend to check out what is going on in the background more so than the people in it.

On topic… My dad passed away 16 years ago this month, so thinking of what to write is even harder right now than it would be at any other time of the year. My parents met when my mom was a senior in high school, and they got married the fall after she graduated. She was 19, he was 22. My older brother was born the following spring. Here’s the funniest part to me… My mom grew up one street over from my dad, and then they bought a house one street over from there. They both lived in the same neighborhood their entire lives! Maybe that’s why I constantly have the itch to move?

I got my artistic side from my dad, and my organization skills and extreme love for animals from my mom. My mom was really strict about chores when I was growing up, and I hated it, but thank her for it often now. She also never turned any of the tons of strays I brought home away – kittens, puppies, boys – they all got a place to stay and food in their bellies! I love that my mom always allowed our house to be “the hub” and hope that someday I have children and our house can be similar to that too. A place where everyone feels welcome, safe, and loved.

I know most of that is random, but I’d rather not be sad right now, or make any of you sad either!

2004

Surprise, surprise! My first love and current love are one and the same, my husband, Andrew.  I had other, short-lived boyfriends before Andrew, but was never in love before him. The way we met is pretty silly. Myspace was huge in 2004, and I just so happened to add him while adding other locals. I was 19, he was 20. We talked once in awhile on AIM, but he wasn’t very talkative at all. A few months later, I was given a cat, who ended up being pregnant, and needed to find homes for some of the kittens. His cousin and I went to the same college, so I told him to come to school with him to meet me one day. I had to make sure he wasn’t a creeper before giving him one of my precious, baby kittens! Right? Long story short, this guy I hadn’t taken seriously at all before, was suddenly in front of me, and I was instantly into him. We talked for a little while, made plans to meet up the next day so that he could meet the kittens in person. Once he left, I turned to my friend and said, “I’m going to marry him, and have 10,000 of his babies!” Obviously a joke at the time, but who could have imagined the marriage part would actually come true? We’ve been inseparable since then, and I can’t imagine my life without him in it.

The meaning behind my username is really dumb, actually. Jennac0re was one of the many many screen names I had on AOL over the years. It dates back around 10+ years now! I was very involved with a few music and style message boards on AOL when I was younger, and it was a silly joke between a few of the regular members there. It was basically just a play on the word “hardcore” and isn’t meant to be taken seriously at all. It has sort of become a default username for me over the years, when I don’t feel like thinking up something new. I created my YouTube account many years ago, and had only joined to be able to comment, subscribe and save favorite videos. I most likely would have picked something different had I known I’d start making videos years later, but I’m stuck with it. That’s the not very interesting story behind my blog name.

Day 1: Introduce, recent picture of yourself, 15 interesting facts

My name is Jennifer, but the majority of the people in my life call me Jenna. I’m 26, married, and currently living in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. You’ll learn enough about me in the facts, and in the next 29 days, so let’s move on and get this posted by midnight!

1. I have 3 cats. They all look the same, which makes sense when you find out that they are brothers/from the same litter!

2. I’ve always been really into art. I have a degree in graphic design, but decided I despised doing art as a job a few years into it. I’d love to go back to my college and teach someday though!

3. The only reason I ever got into makeup was because I moved to Texas and didn’t know anyone. Joining the makeup community on lj and then youtube, was my way of connecting with people when I felt alone. It made me a lot of really good, hopefully lifelong friends too. Thanks makeup!

4. I am irrationally afraid of making phone calls. Even though I know it won’t be so bad, and I’ll be so proud when I get it over with, I really have to work up the courage.

5. This is the longest my hair has been since I was 10 years old. I started chopping my hair off when I was 11, and kept it VERY VERY short all through high school and college.

6. I have always made up really ridiculous songs about whatever I’m doing around the house, or about my cats or whoever else is around. I only wish I could remember them later, I come up with some gems.

7. I still write snail mail letters to my favorite cousin. We’ve done this pretty much since we were able to write full sentences. Nothing makes me happier than opening my mailbox to see an unexpected letter from my cousin. No one is able to make me laugh as hard, and as much, as she can. We’re both ridiculous, that’s probably why.

8. I hate planes. I’m terrified of them, no matter how many people tell me how much safer they are than any other form of travel. Being up in the sky, and not in control, is scary!

9. I’m obsessed with the scent of lavender. lavender everything, please!

10. I still color in coloring books. I have a huge collection of crayola crayons, and tons of coloring books.

11. I played the flute in school. I still play it sometimes, but I typically only play Christmas songs. They feel so comforting.

12. I always tell people I don’t like Halloween, because I”m secretly creeped out by people in costumes. Especially masks. *shudders* Even little kids!

13. I think palm trees are the most beautiful tree on the planet. They were my favorite part about South Texas.

14. I’ve painted my last 3 bedrooms (that I was able to paint) the exact same shade of lilac. It instantly makes that one room feel like ‘home.’

15. My ultimate goal is to write a cookbook someday.

Physicians Formula - Happy Booster Blush in Rose

Is this not one of the cutest blushes you’ve ever seen? I saw this when I was grocery shopping the other day, and had to have it! That doesn’t happen very often, because I try not to be an impulse shopper. I typically look up reviews and swatches of products for weeks or months before finally purchasing it. I’m really happy I grabbed this, because the quality is great too! It’s a beautiful rosey color, with a satin finish and very fine glitter particles. I don’t feel like I need to use a highlighter when I use this blush, because of the sparkles, so this is great if you’re in a hurry. I’m not sure if it actually boosts my mood or not, but it definitely gives me a pretty glow that lasts all day.

Downsides? I don’t understand why it is upside-down in the packaging. It has a compartment with a mirror and a brush, under the blush. The brush is cute but terrible, and I’d never use it to apply the product. The mirror is nice, and I guess would be good for someone on the go and I like that it won’t be covered in makeup residue since it’s separated. I’ll never use the mirror or the compartment though, so I’d prefer it to not be there. Just my opinion!
